Duck Calling Contest Scholarship

Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest

One of the stars in the crown of duck calling is the $1,500 scholarship offered to the winner of the Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest, which is open to any high school senior in the United States who can call ducks.
The second place winner receives a $500 scholarship; third-place winner receives a $300 scholarship; and fourth place receives a $200 scholarship. Jackets also are awarded to the top three finishers.

The scholarships can be used to further their education in any field. Each contestant must follow the rules ordained by the World's Championship Duck Calling Contest. They have 90 seconds to use four calls--hail, feed, comeback, and mating. Five judges choose the winner.
There is no entry fee for this contest, but contestants must register through the Stuttgart Chamber of Commerce in Stuttgart, Arkansas.

To fund this event, the Chick and Sophie Major Memorial Duck Calling Contest has sold limited edition, numbered prints of Chick Major with his hunting dog. The number of the print matches an exotic wood, numbered duck call on a stand -- the price is $100 for the set.
